At the heart of Wealden Wheels are our amazing volunteer drivers who make a real difference to their communities every day of the year. Quite simply, the project could not operate without them.

If you are a ‘people person’ and are considering giving some of your time to help others then we’d love to hear from you. There is no prescribed time commitment, we’re happy to have as much (or as little) time as you can spare!

To join us you will need…..

  • to be over 25

  • to have no more than three points on your licence

  • to have category D1 to drive our larger buses

  • to be willing to have a Disclosure and Barring Service [DBS, formerly CRB] check

In return, you will meet some lovely people and visit some great places, but you will also feel amazing with a sense of having ‘given something back’, knowing that you’ve created happiness, and improved the lives of people who share your community. You’ll receive industry-standard MiDAS [minibus driver awareness scheme] training and the opportunity to qualify in First Aid too.

To find out more about becoming a volunteer please contact the Project Co-ordinator by telephone or email wealdenwheels@btconnect.com.
